Attlee’s Country Store has been located in the heart of Dorking for over two hundred years. Serving the local rural community with pet, equestrian and farm feed, products and services, Attlee’s has a knowledgeable and friendly team, who are always on hand to offer support and advice for all animals. More recently, the store has been expanded to offer an even wider range of products and services to customers, including an extensive animal feed barn.
A family-owned business since 1788, Attlee’s was founded by Corn Merchant, John Attlee (great-grandfather to British Prime Minister, Clement Attlee) at just 23-years-old. Attlee’s was owned by the Attlee family until 1979, when the store was purchased by W.M. Lillico and Lillico Attlee Country Stores was born. Attlee’s is still located at the same site since 1839, although now benefitting from an expanded store and even more products and services, whilst still maintaining the important values set out by the Attlee family with Lillico Attlee Country Stores in its fifth generation of ownership.
Expanding the store, in 1979 the business merged with Attlee’s Country Store, Dorking to become Lillico Attlee Country Stores. Attlee’s Country Store is equally steeped in history, founded over two hundred years ago by corn merchant John Attlee (great-grandfather of British Prime Minister, Clement Attlee). Lillico has withstood the test of time, and now in its fifth generation of ownership, are proud to still hold the same family values on which the store was founded today.
Attlee’s offers customers a relaxed and welcoming shopping atmosphere, with attentive staff and an excellent range of products from both well-known brands and local businesses too. The store welcomes dogs and will even have a treat waiting at the till for their canine customers! The knowledgeable staff are happy to provide tailored nutrition advice for your pet.
There is a clothing and footwear section offering a range of popular country and equestrian clothing, as well as a free hat and body protector fitting service for horse riders from a trained member of staff.
Passionate about reducing their carbon footprint, Attlee’s recycles all plastic and cardboard waste from the store and donates any unsold or damaged animal feed to local charities.
